Ownership & Heritage

The SoCo Hotel is owned and operated by Arcadia Hotels & Resorts, led by acclaimed Barbadian hotelier Ralph W. Taylor.

Taylor is one of the Caribbean’s longtime hospitality leaders and was instrumental in introducing the modern all-inclusive hotel concept to Barbados. Before launching SoCo, he spent two decades leading Almond Resorts, expanding the company from a single resort into a major Caribbean hotel portfolio.

His contributions to Caribbean tourism have included leadership roles with the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association, Barbados Hotel Association and Barbados Tourism Authority, along with recognition as Caribbean Hotelier of the Year and a Barbados tourism Lifetime Achievement Award recipient.

Taylor later created The SoCo Hotel as a smaller, more personalized interpretation of the all-inclusive concept — combining Barbadian ownership and hospitality leadership with boutique beachfront accommodations.
