Museum of African American History– Boston, MA

Situated in the historic Beacon Hill neighborhood, the Museum of African American History (MAAH) stands as New England’s largest institution dedicated to preserving, conserving, and interpreting the contributions of African Americans. Historic Sites

The Boston campus of MAAH encompasses two National Historic Landmarks:​

• African Meeting House (1806): Recognized as the oldest Black church edifice still standing in the United States, this site served as a hub for abolitionist activities. Notably, it hosted speeches by prominent figures such as Frederick Douglass and William Lloyd Garrison and was the founding site of the New England Anti-Slavery Society in 1832.
