Dining

Meals are an important part of the intimate guesthouse experience. La Villa 126 offers breakfast as well as lunch and dinner, with its restaurant serving a mixture of Senegalese/African, French and international cuisine.

The patios and shared dining spaces create the feel of staying in a private Dakar residence rather than a conventional hotel.

Why Stay Here

La Villa 126 is especially appealing to travelers looking for small-scale, locally led hospitality in Dakar.

Its Ngor-Almadies location puts guests near Ngor Beach, restaurants, shops and Golf des Almadies, while the property’s quiet residential setting provides a retreat from the energy of central Dakar.

The intimate size and personalized service also make it an attractive option for couples and solo travelers, including women traveling independently.

Ownership & Leadership

La Villa 126 is a Black-led boutique guesthouse currently managed by Awa, a longtime member of the property’s hospitality team.

The guesthouse was originally created by French founders Sylvie and Gilles, who developed La Villa 126 after many years of traveling to and living in Senegal.

Awa’s connection to the property stretches back more than a decade. Over time, she progressed from working with the original team to becoming the property’s manager and primary host. Today, major booking platforms identify La Villa 126 as managed by Awa, and recent guests regularly recognize her and the predominantly female team for their warm, attentive hospitality.

The founders have also publicly expressed their intention for the establishment to eventually be transferred to Awa while preserving the character and spirit of La Villa 126. However, Black Hotel Guide has not found public documentation confirming that the ownership transfer has been completed.

For that reason, Black Hotel Guide currently identifies La Villa 126 as Black-led rather than Black-owned, reflecting Awa’s documented leadership while maintaining transparency about the property’s ownership.
