The resort was originally created by Belgian designer and entrepreneur Paul Ramlot, who developed Lou Moon as an environmentally conscious retreat that made extensive use of its remarkable natural surroundings.
Ownership later transitioned from its European founder to Ghanaian interests. Ghanaian reporting documents the acquisition of Lou Moon from Ramlot and its subsequent registration under Notre Dame Investments Ltd, a Ghanaian company identified in published reporting with prominent Ghanaian businesswoman Angela List.
